Schools out, Spring’s over and Summer is in the air. There is so much to be happy about this month and next month. I love this time of year with the spring showers and sunny days in the 60’s and 70’s. It’s not too hot and not too cold, just right!
This is the time of year that many couples and families are looking to head out on vacation after a long school year with the kids. Here are some June Vacation Destination Ideas.
Kaua’i, Hawaii
Is there a bad time to visit Hawaii? I would say no! Kaua’i is the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands. This is a popular destination for honeymooners or couples looking for a romantic spot to vacation. June brings near perfect temperatures, and if you love to surf, this is the time of year to do it. The waters are at its calmest during June. Some things to do when in Kaua’i are:
- Take a boat tour on the north shore
- Swim in the Hanalei Bay
- Walk the cliffs and Valleys of Waimea Canyon
Havana, Cuba
Since Americans are not banned from traveling to Cuba anymore, Havana was listed as the destination of the year in 2015 by Travel & Leisure.
The last time that a sitting United States President visited Cuba was 88 years ago until President Obama visited Cuba in March 2016. Now many of the direct carriers like JetBlue, Carnival are opening up the country to tourism more than ever.
The month of June marks the hurricane season in the Caribbean, but often these storms don’t affect Cuba.
Bangkok, Thailand
This is one of the busiest cities in the world with an estimated 45 million people passing through each year. Travel With Burns was just in Thailand, you can read about him here. May through November is the monsoon season in Thailand, but don’t let that stop you from vacationing there. There are hundreds of amazing sights and a variety of cuisines to tantalize your taste buds with.
Bordeaux, France
June is the perfect month to visit Bordeaux. Hot summer days sipping wine from a glass on the banks of the Garonne River during the day. After a day of relaxing, you can bed down at the 19th Century La Grande Maison and dine in the hotel’s fabulous restaurant. The architecture here is just stunning set against the lush green landscape of the countryside scenery.
