Spring time has at last arrived. Warmth and sunshine are on its way. Trees are blossoming and the grass is green again. And with the pleasant change in weather comes the perfect opportunity to travel. But where are the best locations to travel to? Which would be truly worthwhile to visit?

We have compiled a list of 5 places for you to travel to this spring. Two of them are right here in the United States, while the others require a bit of a trek.

1. Kyoto, Japan

Kyoto is famous for many things. One of them being their gorgeous cherry trees that bloom vibrant colors in the spring time. The optimal time for travel would be throughout the month of April.

From Haradani-en Garden to the Arashiyama district, the delicate, pink blossoms fly through the air and drift down the river like a scene from a movie. You can take a peaceful walk along the built-in pathways, snapping photographs as you go.

The Botanical Garden in Kyoto is praised for its “light-up sakura,” where dazzling lights are shone upon the blushing flowers to create this truly ethereal atmosphere.

2. Phoenix, Arizona

Fun fact about Phoenix, Arizona: it is the 5th largest U.S. city. With highs above 110°F, it is known as the “Valley of The Sun” because of how hot it gets. However, it is in this sweltering heat that desert cacti can flourish.

From February to June, cacti of all kinds begin to grow and bloom. Saguaro Cacti, the biggest cactus in the States, are fruit-bearing plants that sprout beautiful white flowers with golden centers in the late spring.

Around this time you can also spot quite a few animals native to the region, such as: coyotes, wild boars, and quails.

3. Gavnø, Denmark

What is in Denmark that is so special, you ask? In October, many people plant thousands of flower bulbs within the earth. Then in the coming spring, these bulbs push forth and bloom into rows and rows of tulips.

“Each year, the bulbs are exhibited in new formations and color combinations. No two seasons are alike.”

At the end of April and into May you can visit Denmark to experience the annual tulip festival. The historic Castle Park at Gavnø showcases a brilliant display of tulips that is open to the public. Celebrate an early Mothers’ Day walking by a collection of vibrant flowers in the warm sunshine.

4. Cape Town, South Africa

Cape Town is the capital city of South Africa, known for its unique mountain naturally shaped like a table, its rocky beaches filled with penguins, and much more. However, the spring season reveals a beauty that not many stick around to see.

Wildflowers decorate the fields with a magical spectrum of color. From bright white and yellow daisies, to the magenta King Protea, the foliage along the south-western coast makes the trip worth-while.

Along with the plants, you will get to see plenty of animals there too. Humpback Whales, antelopes, and of course, the beloved African penguins.

5. Yosemite, California

“First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more.”

Along with the spectacular flowing waterfalls, the rest of nature bursts forth as well. Alpine buttercups, Gray’s lupine, and Arrowleaf asters are some of the flowers you will see around there.

“As warmer weather begins to melt the snow, even the smallest creeks are rushing with water. You may see many small, unnamed waterfalls and cascades all along the Valley rim. Larger creeks and rivers, along with the better known waterfalls, tend to reach peak runoff in May or June.”
