Schools out, the summer weather is finally here, and you’re sitting down to plan your families summer vacation for this year. Depending on what your budget is, you can spend a little or a lot of money on your summer vacation. The great thing about summer is the amount of budget friendly destinations to have a great time at. In this article, we are going to cover some of the hottest (trending) summer destinations of 2017. Here they are:
1 Ocean City, Maryland
Ocean City is one of the top choices in the country to vacation at outside of the Florida Keys. Florida, of course, is a natural first choice with blue waters, warm weather and warmer waters than New England. Ocean City is a very popular town known for its family-friendly activities and scenic boardwalks packed with shops, games, and restaurants to eat at. There are approximately 1,600 rentals in Ocean City. If you get bored on the beach, there is an amusement park right nearby. 2 Cape May, New Jersey
Cape May is the oldest destination resort in the United States. This is a classic summer destination spot for the family with a tremendous amount of history. One of the first things you are going to notice in Cape May are the stunning Victorian rentals. Cape May is an island that was originally settled by whalers and fishermen and has been a resorting town since the 1800’s.
During the summer months, there are over 750 rentals that you can take book for your vacation. The are plenty of places to eat and plenty of activities to do when in Cape May. 3 Hilton Head, South Carolina
Sailing, biking and horseback riding are just some of the activities that you can do when in Hilton Head, South Carolina. There are top rated golf courses and stunning historic tours if you are not already at the Coligny Beach for the day. When here you need to stop in for the Harbor Fest. This is Hilton Head’s premiere event for the summer featuring food, fireworks and live entertainment for everyone. This year the event kicks off on June 13th. There are approximately 3,000 rental properties to book in the Hilton Head area.
4 Virgina Beach, Virginia
Virgina Beach is a coastal city that boasts a boardwalk that stretches for 3 miles where the Chesapeake Bay meet the Atlantic Ocean. What is there to do when there? The list is to long, but there are three main beaches here. The resort, the Sanbridge, and the Chesapeake Bay Beach are the top beaches to visit. Things to do are: shopping, golf, fishing, visit cultural arts exhibits, history museums, kids spots and plenty of free things too.
This vacation destination is very popular internationally, so don’t be surprised to see a variety of cultural influences here. There are plenty of options for accommodations here, from hotels to beach homes, to bed & breakfast spots and if you really want to rough it, camping and cabins are an option too.
5 Orlando, Florida
Orlando is one of the most popular vacation spots in the world. Everyone knows that Orlando is home to the iconic Walt Disney World theme parks and Universal Studios. There are some new attractions that you might not know about. Legoland, Volcano Bay and Leu Gardens and Kelly Park are some of the top spots to visit when in Orlando. Orlando is full of theme parks, restaurants, attractions, nightlife, and shopping galore. You could spend several weeks in Orlando and still not see everything.
